I was in 11th grade when I first heard this song and of this group. Later I was to spend part of a summer with one of them canoeing in Canada. Some really humorous and embarrassing memories. I got to know his family extremely well and was sort of adopted since I was the black sheep of my family and he the middle Finger of his. Long story. A few years ago I was talking with this random lady in an airport and she mentioned something that meant she knew him as well, went to college with him, we shared some real laughs then! But, the song has always been one I liked. Little known is that George Harrison, of Beatles fame, did the original slide guitar for this song....
