Christians hold that these are God Breathed, Given, Inspired.
Scripture is more than just good ideas, thoughts or laws.
It is trustworthy and can be believed.
All of the Bible, not just what is convenient for us at the moment.
Lots of stuff we do not want to hear!

It is Profitable: You Can be Changed by it
It is useful, intended for a reason:
For teaching - your life can be changed
For reproof - to show you where you are wrong, it will upset you!
For correction - it lays out truth and how to make adjustments wisely
For training in righteousness - how to live, what to pursue, gain understanding

Perspective: You can be Equipped To Make a Difference
Ask yourself:
What does a passage say?
What does the passage mean?
How does this fit into my life?
What effect will this have on me?

You are not asking these questions to gain knowledge or doctrine but to see what changes you need to make in your life in order to be useful to God, to please God in the real world.
