I rarely hear from my first god-daughter, which is very sad as I cherish her greatly but her life has taken her far from her faith and family. But, usually once a year she feels compelled to get in touch - so it is good to not be forgotten.
This year I am sure she felt was a visual treat, as she had decided to tattoo her body heavily and send photos. Maybe so I could identify her body in a morgue one day? So sad to see that she has gone back to her old ways. I wonder where her son fits in with those parties and rotating roomies......?
I really feel extremely sorry for her. Her rebellion, against what none of us know, now seems to be fully embracing a far more pagan lifestyle than before.....

Strengthening
As I sat last week reading through all of my material people had saved for me, I was struck by the encouragement it has offered me! Yeah, some of those times were terribly hard physically, mentally and spiritually, but to see and know how those situations all contributed to bring me where I am today was encouraging. I can SEE God working quietly in my life still....
One has the tendency to forget just how active God is, unless you have something like a blog or spiritual diary to journal on.
And that is what I want to encourage each of my readers to do: start a spiritual journal! Put in there how you came to salvation - what was the trigger that pushed you over into God's camp? Write what you pray about and how those prayers are answered - or what you learned afterwards. Think on scriptures which have played an important role in your life. There are lots of possibilities you can write about!
You journal can be left for your children to learn from, reread by you to remember by, gleaned for juicy bits for studies/fellowships/testimonies/etc!

2010 DARWIN AWARDS
8th Place..... In Detroit , a 41-year-old man got stuck and drowned in two feet of water after squeezing head first through an 18-inch-wide sewer grate to retrieve his car keys.
7th Place.... A 49-year-old San Francisco stockbroker, who "totally zoned when he ran", accidentally, jogged off a 100-foot high cliff on his daily run.
6th Place ...While at the beach, Daniel Jones, 21, dug an 8 foot hole for protection from the wind and had been sitting in a beach chair at the bottom, when it collapsed, burying him beneath 5 feet of sand. People on the beach used their hands and shovels trying to get him out but could not reach him. It took rescue workers using heavy equipment almost an hour to free him. Jones was pronounced dead at a hospital.
5th Place... Santiago Alvarado, 24, was killed as he fell through the ceiling of a bicycle shop he was robbing. Death was caused when the long flash light he had placed in his mouth to keep his hands free, rammed into the base of his skull as he hit the floor.
4th Place.... Sylvester Briddell, Jr., 26, was killed as he won a bet with friends who said he would not put a revolver loaded with four bullets into his mouth and pull the trigger.
3rd Place.... After walking around a marked police patrol car parked at the front door, a man walked into Florida's H&J Leather &Firearms intent on robbing the store. The shop was full of customers and a uniformed officer was standing at the counter.. Upon seeing the officer, the would-be robber announced a hold-up and fired a few wild shots from a target pistol. The officer and a clerk promptly returned fire and several customers also drew their guns and fired. The robber was pronounced dead at the scene by Paramedics. Crime scene investigators located 47 expended cartridge cases in the shop. The subsequent autopsy revealed 23 gunshot wounds. Ballistics identified rounds from 7 different weapons. No one else was hurt.
HONORABLE MENTION... Paul Stiller, 47, and his wife Bonnie were bored just driving around at 2 a.m. So they lit a stick of dynamite to toss out the window to see what would happen. Apparently they failed to notice the window was closed!
RUNNER UP... Kerry Bingham had been drinking with several friends when one of them said they knew a person who had bungee-jumped from a local bridge in the middle of traffic. The conversation grew more heated and at least 10 men trooped along the walkway of the bridge at 4:30 a.m. Upon arrival at the midpoint of the bridge they discovered that no one had brought a bungee rope. Bingham, who had continued drinking, volunteered and pointed out that a coil of lineman's cable lay nearby. They secured one end around Bingham's leg and then tied the other (!) to the bridge. His fall lasted 40 feet before the cable tightened and tore his foot off at the ankle. He miraculously survived his fall into the icy water and was rescued by two nearby fishermen. Bingham's foot was never located.
AND THE WINNER IS... Zookeeper Friedrich Riesfeldt (Paderborn , Germany) fed his constipated elephant 22 doses of animal laxative and more than a bushel of berries, figs and prunes before the plugged-up pachyderm finally got relief. Investigators say ill-fated Friedrich, 46, was attempting to give the ailing elephant an olive oil enema when the relieved beast unloaded. The sheer force of the elephant's unexpected defecation knocked Mr. Riesfeldt to the ground where he struck his head on a rock as the elephant continued to evacuate 200 pounds of dung on top of him. It seems to be just one of those freak accidents that proves.... 'shit happens'.

A Good Day
Last week my doctor put me on 40 whatevers of potassium a day and today I am downright chipper! Best I have felt since last August actually! She did this as it was supposed to help something that is wrong internally, so who knows? Maybe things are reversing a bit or I am going to die tomorrow - LOL! Yeah, I can be a bit morbid when the doctors agree the body is failing. eh.
My cousin turns out to have saved quite a few of my old postings as well, dating back to 2005! So, even though I exhausted the online cache I found, I still have another sixty or seventy I can repost! Cool! I am especially happy to know he had the funny ones. Maybe this weekend I will look at getting those restored - it really is a tiresome process.
Tried doing a coin show this past weekend - what a disaster! Hardly anyone showed up and then almost no one was buying anything. I sold six coins which covered all of my costs, plus enough to buy a Starbucks yesterday. Sigh. It would appear that God really does not want me to raise any money right now!
And of course, Timothy's car was wrecked by some careless parking lot jockey - so now I have to get his car's body repaired as well. Sigh. Thus a net of about -900 for the weekend. Very frustrating.

Backups
Playing on the internet last week I found a cache of about sixty of my old posts! Yeah from blogs long gone in those early blog wars - where I seemed to have incurred the wrath of some "Christian" cult member - whom now languishes in prison I am assured.
So I have managed to restore about ten of them so far - a really time consuming process! Unfortunately none of them were from the really fun postings I had. Oh well, maybe I will find copies of those one day as well.
Well, I am off to soak my injured foot and ankle, as well as, see about restoring a few more of the lost posts later today.
